Close-Up 2, new contemporary jazz club at 416 S. Clark St. in the South Loop, opened up on Thursday Nov. 9th with one of Chicago's finest sax players - Ray Silkman. Silkman, as usual, perfromed magnificently on the alto and soprano sax before a very appreciative crowd.

The cozy South Loop club promises to be just the nvironment thta has been lacking in recent years in the Loop area. Manager Frank Goss, and President Yon Kim intend to provide live entertainment Monday through Saturday for the discerning smooth jazz crowd. This nite spot is sure to attract not only the downtown professionals, but also those looking for excellent jazz any day of the week.

Silkman was an excellent choice by Mr. Goss to open Close-Up 2. If you have not seen Ray perform before, you owe it to yourself to check him out. Ray is vibrant with unleasehed energy whenever he is on the stage. Once he begins playing, it's nonstop each set. Ray interacts throughout the set with the audience, and his fans love him.

Future performers at this promising club include another excellent sax player Aubrey Reid, and vocalist/guitarist Michael Ross. For specifics, check out their website or call them at 312-385-1111.
