New Chicago jazz club, Club BluJazz - 1540 W. North Ave. - opened its doors to the public last weekend with shows by legendary pianist Mike Melvoin. Melvoin is based out of L.A. and has played on anything and everything from the Beach Boys to television theme songs. He was backed by Chicago first-call cats Charles "Rick" Heath on drums and Larry Gray on bass, and was accompanied by singer Theresa Russell. Phil Onofrio was there and got these shots of the action.
